Conducting Effective Investigations
Recent Court rulings revolutionized the importance of an effective investigation into claims of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation, as well as other forms of unauthorized employee behavior. Employers now have the option of terminating an employee who has engaged in unauthorized behaviors if the investigation is “adequate” and “reasonable”, and if the final decision was made in “good faith”, depending on the information that was uncovered in the investigation.
The Parallax Education method for helping Human Resources professionals be effective investigators, is like our other training methods. We put the Human Resources professionals in small groups and have them simulate a real investigation. Group members analyze which party they should interview first, second, third and ongoing, what files to check, what documents to review, whether a site-survey is indicated, and what steps should follow.
The course includes models, forms, and overheads used with 100% success at jury trials.
